What is Linkatomic.com?

Linkatomic.com is a guest-posting marketplace where you can purchase backlinks from listed websites. The marketplace has numerous newspaper publishers and blogs listed along with lots of websites to get backlinks from.

Linkatomic was founded by Rubén Vázquez in 2020 after years of working in the link-building space. As of November 2024, it has an online catalog of 13,000 publisher site listings.

We reviewed the platform by checking its listings, key metrics disclosed about the publisher sites, quantity and quality of listings, user reviews, marketplace traffic, and ease of use. We also contacted the marketplace’s support team to gauge their support.

Overall, we wanted to check how legit is Linkatomic.com.

Founding story

Rubén Vázquez founded Linkatomic in 2020 after years of working in SEO. Vázquez has been building websites and working in the link-building space since he was 15. When he saw the state of the backlink market a few years ago, he decided to start a link-building marketplace of his own.

Vázquez started Linkatomic with his programmer during the pandemic with little capital. They launched the platform in the Spanish market and negotiated the best prices from the main national newspapers.

Since then, the platform has expanded internationally to other markets and has a growing client portfolio with over 21,000 listings.

Linkatomic’s focus has been on personalized customer service and integrating link-building tools. For example, “Projects,” a new tool by Linkatomic, allows users to replicate links from competitors, a service that has become popular with its users.

Interface

We created an account on Linkatomic to provide this review. We checked out their listings, provided data about the listings, the user interface, and the user reviews. We also contacted their support team with queries to better understand their marketplace.

Linkatomic has some filters and shows the publisher sites with their domain authority (though an unreliable metric—Moz DA), traffic, ranking keywords, link type, and price. It also provides the traffic historical trend. This is most of the essential data you expect on a guest-posting marketplace, but less than top market leaders have.

However, the data could be enriched by showing estimated organic traffic, traffic geo-distribution, and other domain authority metrics like Semrush AS.

Buying Backlinks

I also tested the platform for how easy it is to purchase a guestpost from a site that fulfills my criteria. As a user, I want to promote my Content Audit Tool on a truly authoritative website.

So, here are my criteria for choosing the links:

1. The publisher site should get more than 10,000 organic traffic per month. This is basic, and traffic from Google is the biggest indicator of authority.
2. The traffic is stable to growing. Not declining.
3. Traffic should majorly come from the US.
4. The site should be relevant to my business. A category or topic filter is what I’m looking at.
5. I want a Semrush Authority Score (AS) higher than my website’s, which is 24 as of today. Moz DA can be manipulated. Ahrefs DR can be manipulated. These legacy metrics have fallen prey to the “DR hackers.”
6. I want the platform or the publisher site to create content and publish, with my input.
7. Last filter – price. I want to spend $200 or less on my backlink.

With these requirements in place, I set out to filter the sites on the Linkatomic platform.

Straightaway, I could filter for – category/topics, country, and price. There’s no Semrush AS filter here. The best I could do was filter for Moz DA, which I’m not a fan of for reasons mentioned here.

The two remaining criteria—organic traffic and traffic trend—were not readily available as filters. But I could click on each publisher site and see these data – I am okay with this!

Even though I didn’t get to filter all my requirements, all the data were readily available. Except for Semrush AS as domain authority.

So, all in all, Linkatomic does a good job with data transparency.

Data accuracy

Next, I manually checked a few websites to see how updated the data was.

I took three random websites and checked their traffic. And this is where things went wild!

The first site check was simple and had comparable traffic. The difference between Semrush and Linkatomic traffic is acceptable here.

But for the second and third sites, the traffic difference was on a 10X scale. And that too in opposite directions for the two sites.

In this chaos, I saw one good thing: the country filter.

Almost all the marketplaces I have tested (and I’ve tested a lot!), fail in the country filter-even the top marketplaces. If I filter for US sites, I would still see sites with the majority of traffic from other countries.

But Linkatomic does not have this problem – so bonus points for that!

Customer support speed and quality

Linkatomic does not have any reviews on Trustpilot or other review platforms.

When we contacted their support team with some queries, they responded with a helpful reply. The response time was pretty fast, as well. The response could have been even more detailed with a screenshot – since some of the other marketplace support teams responded with such detail.

But overall, we are happy with their support team.
