Founding story
Alexander Storozhuk and Alex Nigmatulin founded PRNEWS.IO in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. The project started as a spin-off of B2Blogger, a press release distribution platform primarily serving Ukraine and ex-USSR markets. It helped foreign companies gain coverage in the local press of Russian-speaking countries. One of their clients was a Turkish PR agency promoting Turkish businesses abroad.
In 2017, the Turkish-Austrian logistics company, a client of the Turkish PR agency, expressed interest in press coverage in Austria. The founders contacted an Austrian press release distributor and added their news outlets to the database.
The client received their desired coverage, and PRNEWS.IO transformed into an international platform, quickly expanding into new markets. It has since become one of the market leaders in digital PR and link-building services, representing over 100,000 publishers from nearly 200 countries.
Interface
PRNEWS.IO has the best user interface out of all the guest-posting marketplaces I used. It’s clean, clear, and extremely easy to navigate. The pricing is transparent and neatly shown.

The platform shows all the key metrics for publisher sites. This includes total traffic, organic traffic, domain authority metrics (Semrush AS, Ahrefs DR, Moz DA, Majestic TF), traffic historical trend, and geo-distribution.

The filters and categories felt easy to use. However, once I dug deep, the filters felt lacking.
Here’s how I went about filtering the sites.
Buying backlinks
I had specific criteria in choosing the sites I wanted backlinks from. That’s how any user journey goes in these marketplaces.
As a user, I want to promote my Content Audit Tool on a truly authoritative website. So, here are my criteria:
- The publisher’s website must receive at least 1,000 monthly visits from organic traffic. I want a backlink from a Google-recognized site.
- The traffic should be stable or growing, not declining. Links from a site whose traffic is nosediving provide little value to me.
- The traffic source should be the US, as it’s my home market, and 90% of my audience is based here.
- The publisher’s relevance matters for topical authority. A cooking website isn’t the best place to promote an SEO SaaS tool. So, I need to filter for the website industry.
- I want a Semrush Authority Score (AS) higher than my website’s, which is 24 as of today. I don’t consider legacy metrics from Moz, Ahrefs, and Majestic, as they became useless after Google’s Useful Content Update in March 2024. DA and DR were too easy to manipulate for years before the March update.
- I prefer the content publisher or platform copywriter to create content following their guidelines, using my input as the foundation.
- Lastly, I want to spend $200 or less on my backlink. Price matters.
So, I set out to filter for these criteria.
I could easily filter by location (the US) and category, but that’s about it. For the rest, however, I had to sort and manually sift through the sites that fulfilled my criteria. It was time-consuming.

On the brighter side, the platform provided all the data I needed, which is rare considering the marketplaces failed to check all the boxes. I could find all the metrics here. No data point or metric I was looking for was missing. So good job there!
Data accuracy
Next, I picked three sites at random to vet the metrics provided. The data provided is correct since PRnews.io has also integrated with all the major SEO tools – Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Majestic. And shows the data from these metrics.

The only descrepency I noticed was the country filter. When I filter for US sites, I expect a majority of traffic to be from US. However, that’s not the case here. A few filtered sites did not have US as its top traffic country.

Apart from this minor chunk, PRnews.io provides a solid publisher metrics, in fact arguably the best out of all marketplaces I reviewed.
Customer support speed and quality
We contacted their support team (we didn’t say anything about this research. The team’s response was prompt and detailed.
All these things considered, it’s no surprise to me that prnews.io ranks first in this list.
Public reviews responsiveness
The platform’s reviews on Trustpilot are also great. There are many good reviews and hardly any 1* reviews.
Even for the rare negative reviews, the support team has replied courteously.
Founders accessibility
We love talking to founders about their products and contacted the team about their journey.
PRnews.io was gracious in responding, and shared their story. I have summarized it in the founding story section above.
